A bill of materials is only useful if it survives contact with production. Capitán holds multi-level BOMs alongside the work orders that consume them, so component usage is recorded as it actually happens — including substitutions, partial issues and the overdose nobody meant to make. That gives you the gap between theoretical and real material cost while there is still time to act on it, rather than at stock-take. Because BOMs sit in the same record as machine data and quality results, tracing a component back to the finished units it went into becomes a query rather than an investigation.
